Here is a list of things that everyone seems to enjoy but I cannot stand the thought of:
- American Idol
- Twilight
- buying a pet
- cruises
- Facebook apps
- mustard
- scrapbooking
- Disney
Yes, Disney. The same Disney where we just took a vacation. I can't really explain my lack of love for all things Disney - the insane cost of admission, crazy lines for everything, a gift shop everywhere you turn, princesses, those are a few of my not-so-favorite things.
We did had a great time, despite everyone being sick. My aunt and uncle live in Orlando so we stayed with them most of the time and spent a few nights at Shades of Green (the military resort at the park).
One day we drove out to Clearwater and let the kids play in the Gulf and ate some great seafood. It was really windy, but fun to be on the beach in January.
As you can imagine, Maddy was in her element. My Aunt Jan hooked her up with the breakfast at Cinderella's castle where Maddy met Jasmine, Aurora, Snow White, Belle, and Cinderella. Belle doesn't wear her fancy gown, just her plain blue frock. Maddy was disappointed and didn't know who it was at first. Belle told her, "We both have blue dresses!" and Maddy replied, "Yeah, but MINE has SPARKLES and JEWELS"
Aunt Jan also took us to eat at TRex, got us front row VIP seats at the Lion King show, and a huge discount on all the crap we bought in the magic kingdom. She works there part time and was very good to us!
Now I'm planning trips for Arizona and Colorado to see the Grand Canyon and breweries. That's our kind of trip! We'll let Maddy wear her princess gowns if she wants to.
all those white blobs behind us? Ibis roosting in the trees!

Love the pics! I know what to get Maddy in the future! BTW: We are taking the plunge too... just booked our trip to Disney at the end of this month. Wasn't really in the plans, but my bones need some warmth and Matt needs his Disney fix. Hope that we have better luck re: health then you guys did! Fortunately, from the pics, it looks like you still had a good time!
